21. Angel Investing

Since it’s now easier to invest in early-stage startups with smaller amounts of money, last year I started angel investing in startups via Angel Effect, located in Turkey.

Until now I have invested in 2 startups: 11Sight and DAtAnchor.

I also tried Republic, which allows investing in startups with amounts as low as $100. But then I felt like that the investments made via non-US residents were not protected, and retracted my investments from there.

Since it’s highly risky to invest in early-stage startups, I try to keep my investments in startups in a range of 5-10% of my total net worth.
